Shirley Ann Flowers
Age 92, of Greentree, peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Robert P. Flowers Sr.; loving mother of Robert (the late Sue) Flowers, Jr., Daryl (Bonnie) Flowers and his previous wife, Cathy Flowers, and the late Keith (Marion) Flowers; beloved grandmother of Tracensa and Charles, Amy and Brian, Adam and Jennifer, Christopher, Sharon, and Maria; beloved great-grandmother of Cole, Ashton, Madelyn, Hailey, Lilly and Madison; beloved sister of the late Sonny (Josie) Horsley and the late Robert (survived by, Lucy) Horsley ; also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. Shirley was born in Mt. Washington and enjoyed telling stories about delivering goods from the local drug store, and numerous trips up and down the hill to Pittsburgh. She lived a life of love, hard work, and success. In 1950, she married her husband, Bob, and moved to the South Hills. The family enjoyed outdoor activities on the weekends at their farm in Volant, where they would enjoy driving dune buggies, having fun together and eating mom’s renowned hot spaghetti. In the early 70’s, Shirley joined and became Program Director of the Pittsburgh Area Theatre Organ Society, renowned her for restoring and installing the Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe at the Keystone Oaks High School in Dormont. There, many famous artists provided concerts for the Pittsburgh area. Shirley lovingly became internationally known to be called “Mother Wurlitzer” and was made an honorary lifetime member of PATOS. Visitations on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Brusco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc. 214 Virginia Avenue, Mt Washington (412) 381-2323. Funeral Mass in Mary Queen of Peace/St. Mary of the Mount Church on Wednesday, 10 am. Burial to follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
