Ruth Frances (Garrity) Mangan

Age 89, of Mt. Washington, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024, surrounded by
her family. Ruth was born on June 3, 1935, in Pittsburgh, to the late Thomas and Helen
Garrity. She graduated from South Side High School in 1953. Over the years she
worked at St. Justin High School and the Central Blood Bank of Pittsburgh. Ruth is
survived by her sons Lawrence Mangan and Paul Mangan; her sister Gemma (Lee)
Lundberg; six grandchildren: Emily (Curtis Henkel) Mangan, Olivia (Jake) McKee,
Michael Mangan, Anthony Mangan, Dennis Mangan (Keelie) and Jack Selden; great
grandson Colin McKee, and many nieces and nephews. In her later years Ruth
received wonderful care from Lisa, Mary, Gayle, Pat, and the Gallagher Hospice team.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her late husband Dennis
Mangan, to whom she was married for 38 years, her sisters Honora (George) Sturak,
Helen Mae Garrity, Catherine (Sr. Gemma, LSP) Garrity, and Mary (Frank) Kubus.
Besides her love of family, she loved her coffee, sports, and her sweets.
A memorial service will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, please consider
