Robert Theobald, Sr.
Age 103, on Friday July 29th, 2022, passed away peacefully at his home in Lakewood, Ohio. Formerly a resident of Brookline, in Pittsburgh, PA, for 62 years, he is survived by his son Robert Jr. (Janie) of Kirksville, MO, Pat (Kathy) of Lakewood, OH, and Phyllis Birdsong (Keith) also of Lakewood, OH. He is also survived by his brother Peter of Lake Placid, FL. and sister, Rita Spratt of Pittsburgh, PA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Bobby, Kristen, Heidi, Beth, Mary, Ami, CK and Sarah, along with numerous great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille (Coccaro), to whom he was married for 70 years, and his siblings, Harry, Grace, Larry, Chuck, Mary, Johnny, Betty, Theresa and Vera, and parents, John (Cookie) and Lil. Bob had a long and busy life that included working for Champion Coal, serving in the Army Air Corps in WWII, as a streetcar conductor for The Pittsburgh Railways Company, and as a mail carrier for 30 years. In addition to that, he worked as a part time auto mechanic at Sears for over 10 years. He and Lucille were members of Our Lady of Loretto Parish where he was a long-time usher. They were founding members of the Pioneers. Bob was a member of the American Legion in Brookline where he was a fixture working the weekly bingos and serving as an officer. He was also a member of the Greater Beneficial Union, doing volunteer work and enjoying the fellowship there. Bob was always ready to help family members and neighbors with his handyman skills, helping anyone who asked. He loved his Pittsburgh sport teams and watched almost all of the Pirate games, even while living in Cleveland. He was, and is, loved by everyone who met him and got to know him. Since moving to Cleveland in 2015, he endeared himself to many. He was an all-around great guy. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. Visitations on Friday from 2-8 p.m. at the Brusco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc. 214 Virginia Ave. Mt. Washington (412 381-2323).
