Richard A. Stanizzo, Jr.
Age 79, of Bon Air, on Saturday, September 23, 2023. Beloved husband of Roseanne (Pintavalle) Stanizzo; loving father of Richard A. “Chip” Stanizzo, III (Kelly), Russell A. Stanizzo (Christina) and Rachael Buckholt (Dan); grandfather of Ashley Karr (Bryan), Katarina Weimer (Buddy Plut), Jamie Lynn Stanizzo. Hailey Rose Willard, Cody Buckholt, Gabriella Marie Stanizzo, Dominic A. Stanizzo and the late Karlie Weimer; brother of John “Jack” Stanizzo (Lois); brother-in-law of Marie Panza (the late Jack) and the late Joseph Pintavalle (survived by Kathy); also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Richard was the business manager for the Pittsburgh Building and Construction Trades Council. He was a member of the Ironworkers Local Union 3. He was former Vice President of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO and the Allegheny County Labor Council. Rich also served on the board of the Allegheny County Airport Authority. Some of his achievements over the years, included the Pittsburgh’s Man of the Year award and the Dan Marino, Sr. Organized Labor Award. Though he was proud of his achievements, he was most proud of his grandchildren. Along with spending time with family and friends, he loved to read, watch his Pittsburgh sports teams, and travel every fall to his special place, Aruba. Visitations on Thursday from 2-9 p.m. at the Brusco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc. 214 Virginia Ave. Mt. Washington (412 381-2323). Funeral Mass in Mary, Queen of Peace Parish/St. Mary of the Mount Church on Friday at 12 noon. Please Meet in the Church. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
