Age 92, of Duquesne Heights, peacefully on Tuesday, January 29, 2019.  Beloved wife of the late James E. Scanlon; loving mother of  Terrance (Linda Monteverde) Scanlon, Mara (John Roberts), Kevin (Karen Belisario) Scanlon, Mary Julia (Dennis DeFilippo) and Elizabeth (Mike DeAngelis) Scanlon; grandmother of Julia (Stefan Levine), Dr. Matthew (Amanda), James Scanlon, Dr. Caitlin Roberts (William Steigner), Ethan (Sonya) Roberts, Ryan and Nolan (Kayla) Scanlon, J.R. (fiancée, Desi Ruiz), Coleman and Aislin DeFilippo; great-grandmother of Ronan, Keegan, Liam, Easton and Maeve;    Sister of Margaret Strath, Marcia Carroll (John T.), Judith London and the late Donna, Patrick “Bud” and Elizabeth Flaherty; also survived by loving family and friends. A beacon of strength, “Patsy’s” quick wit and loving wisdom endeared anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her even nature and calm presence provided an anchor for her family. Known only by her grandchildren as “sensei,” she was, in many ways, a true teacher. Visitations will be on Saturday 5-8 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 pm at the Brusco - Falvo Funeral Home, Inc.    214 Virginia Ave.  Mt. Washington (412 381-2323).
