Pasquale Rizzo     “Patsy”

March 21, 1936 to October 7, 2023

Age 87, of Mt. Washington on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Pasquale immigrated to Pittsburgh from Piaggine, Salerno (Italy) in 1954 with his father at the age of 18. He began working as a busboy and then waiter at the William Penn Hotel (at that time known as the Penn-Sheraton Hotel). Over his first few years in this country, he and his father worked to bring over other family members, and they began their lives together in the USA. He returned to Piaggine in 1961 to marry his love, Rosa. He then settled with his family in Mt. Washington, along with many friends from his same village in Italy, building a community of paisans.
He worked at Avetta Seafood and then Benkovitz Seafoods, always working a second job as a waiter, going from the William Penn to South Hills Country Club and ultimately at Sgro's Restaurant. He was preceded in death by his parents Vincenzo and Lucia Rizzo, sisters Angelina Sacco and Rosa Cubito, brother-in-laws John Sacco, Carmelo Cubito, and Guiseppe Petraglia, niece Teresa Petraglia and nephew Rosario Cubito. Patsy is survived by his wife, Rosa Domini, daughters Anna (Ray) Mihalko, Donna (Mike) Palus, grandchildren Leanna (Adam) Crowley, Anthony Palus, Emily Mihalko, R.J. Mihalko, and Julia Palus, great granddaughter Nora Crowley and a sister living in Piaggine, Maria Petraglia.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. His family was his joy. He loved being a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and Zio. Throughout his life he had a passion for wine making and vegetable gardening which kept him busy throughout retirement. He shared the fruits of his labor proudly with family, friends, and neighbors. Visitations on Wednesday from 2-8 pm at the Brusco-Falvo Funeral Home 214 Virgina Ave. Mt. Washington (412 381-2323).
