Of Mt. Washington, on Monday, October 20, 2025. She is survived by her sister, Pamela Newton; nephew, James Newton, niece, Lindsey Amtman and nephews, Eric and Jeff Amtman; and her lifelong friend, Michele Cunko. She had a long career working for the city of Pittsburgh and became its first Director of Personnel. In honor of Melanie’s wishes, there will be no services.
