Marie Colantoni-Pechet Obituary

MARIE COLANTONI-PECHET

On December 7, 2016, Marie Colantoni-Pechet, age 54, beloved wife of Dr. Tiron C. M. Pechet and mother of Aidan and Julian Pechet, passed peacefully in her sleep at home in Cambridge, MA. Loving daughter of Henry and Rose Colantoni of Pittsburgh; cherished sister of Anthony Colantoni of Virginia and Linda (John) Stasiowski of Kentucky; also survived by many caring aunts, uncles, cousins, niece, nephews, and extended family. Marie courageously battled cancer for more than nine years. Her courage, resilience, optimism, and prolific writings inspired people around the world with her messages of hope, strength and spirituality.  Marie graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1984 and returned to earn her Master of Science degree in 1991. Marie became a full-time mother in 2003 and shifted her focus to her family. A practicing Catholic, Marie became increasingly spiritual after her diagnosis and began chronicling her journey in her blog, “Adventures in Spiritual Living.” In 2011 Marie was honored to be a featured speaker at a palliative care conference for physicians in Boston. She also spoke at numerous other events in the Boston area on how to live graciously with cancer. A celebration of her life and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 17 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Belmont, MA. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Marie Colantoni Pechet may be made to the Gastrointestinal Cancer Treatment Center at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 or: dana-farber.org/gift. We hope to see you next Saturday, and hope you understand that we may not be able to respond to all of your messages. www.bruscofalvo.com
