Margaret M. Breeze
(Madigan)
Age 93, formerly of Mt. Washington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Monroeville Rehab and Wellness Center (formerly Golden Living). Peggy was born on August 10, 1923, the only child of James and Mary (Flaherty) Madigan, who immigrated to Pittsburgh from Ireland. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Henry Wells; husband of 47 years, Bill Breeze; and sister-in-law, Betty Leonard. She is survived by her godchild, Margaret Wingertzahn (Fox) Barton; sisters-in-law, Sally Falcione, Mary Lea Sweeney, brother-in-law Howard Hunter, and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She retired from the A&P Tea Company after 25 years of service in the Bacon Slicing Dept. at the Lawrenceville warehouse. She was very proud of her Irish heritage, had a great sense of humor and loved telling family stories to anyone who would listen. Peggy had a strong love of and compassion for animals, was a member of the USO, lifelong member of the Daughters of Erin, a strong supporter of the "Madigan Shenanigans Reunions" and longtime volunteer for St. Justin's Church and Justin Inn. She will be greatly missed. We would like to express our special thanks and gratitude to Family Hospice, her caregivers, Theresa and Marissa and the staff at Monroeville Rehab and Wellness Center for the wonderful medical and spiritual care, kindness, and compassion she received.
