Joseph F. Mlinac, Jr.  “Tall Joe”

Age 75, originally of Mt. Washington, suddenly on Sunday, November 26, 2023. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph F. and Anna Mlinac, his brother, Timothy Mlinac and his loving companion, Donna Madeja. Beloved brother of Melinda “Aggie” Mlinac and Nancy Mlinac Jones (Mark) ; cherished uncle of Ava Woychuk-Mlinac and Lucy Woychuk-Mlinac; favorite of all his many cousins; and devoted to his many veteran brothers throughout the Pittsburgh area. A member of the 173rd Airborne, he served in Vietnam and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was one of the founders of Vietnam Veterans Inc., and was committed to various local veteran associations. Joe was also the President and longtime member of Sharing and Caring for Hospitalized Veteran’s Inc. Visitations on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Brusco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc.  214 Virginia Ave. Mt. Washington (412 381-2323). Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Mount Church/Mary, Queen of Peace Parish on Monday at 11 a.m.  Interment to follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with Military Honors.
