John "Jack" Warwick Obituary

John S. Warwick

       “Jack”

Of Pittsburgh, with much sadness, yet faithful rejoicing, that John "Jack" was welcomed into God’s loving arms on Saturday, February 13, 2021. He was a loving husband, beloved father, devoted grandfather, caring brother and loyal friend. Mr. Warwick passed from this world in beauty and dignity surrounded by the people he loved. The family was together giving each other strength and love as it has always done. A gentleman, known for his kindness and integrity, Mr. Warwick was a respected Certified Public Accountant whose expertise was sought nationally and around the world. He was a man of unwavering faith, a devoted member of the Catholic Church and a generous leader and supporter of local Catholic and Community Institutions. A graduate of North Catholic High School, Duquesne University (B.S. Business Administration), Mr. Warwick began his career as an Auditor at Armco Steel Corporation and then gained his tax experience as an IRS Revenue Agent. Three years later he was recruited by Coopers & Lybrand, multinational accounting firm, as a Tax Manager and Foreign Tax Specialist. He visited forty-three countries on six continents. Mr. Warwick left Coopers to become Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer of McClure-Johnston, Inc. for the following twenty-five years. He was with his son Robert Warwick and Associates P.C. as a Tax Consultant until his death. According to his children, “The most outstanding characteristic of our father was his compassion for others. His hand was always outstretched to help others. He had a warm, kind spirit that made spending time with him a pleasure.” Mr. Warwick was a lifetime member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Founder and former President of the Allegheny Tax Society, longtime member of the PAA, Churchill Valley Country Club, The Rivers Club, North Catholic Alumni Association, and a thirty year dedicated leader and twice President of the Serra Club of Pittsburgh an affiliate of Serra International, a Catholic Laity organization that promotes religious vocations.
