John W. Gilvarry, Sr.    

Age 90, of Mt. Washington, went to his eternal life on September 19, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on December 24, 1933 in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late Patrick and Catherine (McMahon) Gilvarry.  Beloved husband of 61 years to the late Angelina (Aguglia) Gilvarry.  Preceded in death by beloved sons John Jr. and Richard (Ricky); siblings, James Gilvarry, Thomas Gilvarry, AnaMarie Evangelista, Kay Keese, Sister John Vianney (Mary Gilvarry). He is survived by his daughters Debbie (Jim) Manion and Donna Gilvarry, son Vincent Gilvarry, his grandchildren Rachel (John) Yakubik and Christopher (Karisa) Gilvarry, Nikita Gilvarry, Joyce Mills and Susan (Cory) McDowell, great-grandchildren Daniel and Lila Yakubik, Atlas and Aurora (due in December) Gilvarry, Braden, Hailee, James and Stephen Mills, Gemma and Cecilia McDowell; also survived by many nieces and nephews. John cooked at the Duquesne Club for 43 years, upon retiring he enjoyed gardening and being outdoors.  He was a man of faith, devoted to his family.  He enjoyed participating in all family affairs, especially family poker nights.  Visitations on Friday from 2-8 pm at the Brusco - Falvo Funeral Home, Inc.    214 Virginia Ave, Mt. Washington (412 381-2323). Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Church/Archangel Gabriel Parish, 5718 Steubenville Pike Robinson Township, PA 15136, on Saturday at 10 am. PLEASE MEET IN THE CHURCH.  Interment to follow at Allegheny County Memorial Park.
