James E. “Jim” Padjune
December 4th, 1961 – June 9th, 2025
Jim Padjune, 63, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away surrounded by family on June 9th, 2025 after fighting a rapid battle with cancer.
After graduating from high school, Jim worked as a mailman in the greater Pittsburgh area before becoming a title searcher in downtown Pittsburgh.
He is the beloved father of Stacey (Shawn, Nicol) Painter, Jesse (Justin) Smith, and James (Kirsty) Padjune, as well as the loving grandfather of Darien Smith and Alanah DeCaro. He will be dearly missed by his lifelong co-parent, Grace (Heidkamp) Scoglietti, as well as his siblings, Richard (Trish) Fontana, Mary Jo Fontana, and Doreen (Keith) Braun. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Fontana, and stepfather, Richard Fontana. Jim is survived by his two dogs, Ari and Rena, as well as many nieces and nephews, family, friends, and friends-turned-family members.
If you knew Jim, you know that he was a character. He loved to talk, he had the kind of voice that filled up a room, and he always looked for ways to make people laugh. He had a whole closet full of t-shirts with inappropriate sayings—many of which his loved ones bought for him, knowing he’d wear them proudly.
Above all else, Jim was someone you could rely on, whether you were a family member, a friend, or someone he knew from around the neighborhood. No matter the situation, in your time of need, Jim was the first person to lend a hand. Please help us remember him by staying true to the way he lived life: love your family more than anything, never go a day without laughing, and aim to be a source of both generosity and stability for those around you.
