Henry "Hank" Cibula, Jr. Obituary

Henry J. Cibula, Jr.

Henry (Hank) Cibula passed away on Wednesday, December 14th after a brief illness. Henry was the loving husband of 59 years and childhood sweetheart of Sue Cibula, who passed away July 17th, 2022. He was father to John (Wendy) Cibula, Pam (Ken) McCrory and Barry Cibula, as well as beloved "Pop" to Marguerite McCrory, Grace Cibula, Joe Cibula, Julia Cibula and Ryley Cibula. His sister Noreen Cibula predeceased him in 2017.

Henry was born to Henry J. Cibula Sr and Marguerite (Barry) Cibula, raised in Brighton Heights and known to his friends and family as "Butch." After his mother passed away in 1959, Henry joined the Army and served as an MP for 3 years in Korea. He returned to Pittsburgh and married Sue Hellerman in 1963.

Henry had an entrepreneurial spirit and owned many businesses. His first business venture was an Open Pantry. He was a General Agent and sold life insurance for Aetna Life and Casualty, Guardian Life and Indianapolis Life. His primary business was The Advisor Group, which employed about 20 people. It was a financial consulting service that managed employee pension and 401K plans. Henry also owned The Franklin Inn Mexican Restaurant in Franklin Park.

Henry coached several baseball teams with the Ingomar Athletic Association for both of his sons. He took his family on many many fabulous vacations over the years and they spent time in their home in Cat Cay, Bahamas and their cabin in Tidioute, PA.

After suffering a massive stroke in 2000, Henry sold his business and the restaurant was taken over by his son John Cibula and his wife Wendy. His wife Sue took over all of his care and thanks to her Henry lived for 22 more years in their beloved Franklin Park residence.
