Elizabeth Lucille Rollen Moss (Betty) passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 5th, 2023 (84) in Pittsburgh, PA. She was born February 13, 1939, in Ironton, MO to James Leon Rollen and Dorothy Russell.
Betty attended Drury College in Springfield, MO, graduating in 1960. She was the first woman to graduate from the Breech School of Business and was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. Upon graduation Betty and a friend migrated west to Denver, CO because Betty “wanted to learn how to ski.”
Skiing was how she met her future husband whom she would marry in November of 1963 and go on to have two children with, Robert and Wendy. Denver was also where Betty met some of her closest friends that she would go on to know and love over the next six decades.
Betty spent 45 years working in the trucking industry in the western United States. Working in varying capacities as everything from a dispatcher, to sales, to partial owner of a Trucking Company. She was a very accomplished woman in business, even being recognized by Who’s Who in American Women.
Betty is survived by her sister, Virginia Godsoe (Gene Keyser), her brother, Jim Rollen (Esther), Her son, Robert Moss (Chikako Matsumoto), Her daughter, Wendy Moss (Christopher Cooper) and Grandchildren; Brendan Gandal and Rae Cooper.
There will be no visitation. Interment Private. Her ashes will be scattered at the Russell Family Cemetery in Ironton, MO at a later date.
