Delia P. (Joyce) O'Donnell

Delia P. O’Donnell (Joyce) Age 92, of Mt. Washington, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 4, 2021, surrounded by her family. The family fulfilled their promise in caring for her at home with the compassion she deserved. Delia was born December 13, 1928 on the Island of Inishmore, one of Ireland’s Aran Islands. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Delia (Flaherty) Joyce. She came bravely to the United States at the age of 17. She met her husband, the late John O’Donnell, Sr., fittingly at a St. Patrick’s Day dance. Delia was a devout Catholic. She loved her family. She is survived by her six children: her devoted son John O’Donnell, Jr., Catherine Tracey, Bridget Heinl (Bob), Tom O’Donnell (Debbie), Patrick O’Donnell (Mary Jo), and Jim O’Donnell (Adrienne); 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; loving sisters Catherine Flaherty and Winnie Flaherty and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 6 siblings and grandson, Danny Heinl. The family would like to thank her ever present caregivers: Julie, Laura, Mary Jane, Kelley, Billie, Carol, Lilly and the services of Home Instead and Family Hospice.
