Brian Corr Obituary

Brian Corr, 71, of Mt. Washington, died Saturday morning, on February 17, 2024 at his home with his family by his side until the end.

Brian was born on September 2, 1952, in Dungannon, Northern Ireland, to Patrick and Annie Corr. He moved to the United States following his brother Jim, and ultimately ended up in Pittsburgh where he pursued a long career in education. Starting his teaching career at Greenway for Pittsburgh Public Schools, Brian guided hundreds of students in Biology during his tenure until he retired as the Supervisor of the Science Department for the Pittsburgh Public Schools.

Not only a vetted educator, Brian was a talented vocalist and musician. He was the lead singer and guitarist of the Irish Rock Band "Red Hand Paddy" frequenting Mullaney's Harp and Fiddle located in the Strip District. Red Hand Paddy provided years of entertainment and good music around Pittsburgh, including playing at the Irish Festival.

Brian is survived by his wife and three children, Winifred (Egan) Corr, Seamus, Ciaran and Ailise. His loving nature and contagious sense of humor will be carried on by his family.

There will be No Visitations. Interment will be held at a later date in his hometown in Northern Ireland.
